Argentine tango beginners

Welcome to the tango beginner's course! The course starts from the basics, and no previous dancing experience is needed. The course is also perfect for those who would like a recap or to learn the opposite role. You do not need a pair to attend the course. Partners will be rotated throughout the course. Woolen socks or non-staining slippery shoes can be worn in the beginner's course.

Argentine tango technique and musicality

The course consists of 10 technique classes (by Eeva-Mari Salminen) and 4 musicality classes (by Leena Vilpo), with the purpose to improve your basic Argentine tango skills. Topics of the technique course include body control, balance and natural/elastic movement, and physical wellness. Some of the individual training exercises will be more focused on the followers, but the classes will also include working on the basics of leading through pair exercises and dancing. The musicality classes will focus on the rhythm of tango, expressing the music by dancing, and the different styles of tango music. Both leads and follows are welcome to the course. You don’t need a pair to attend. Some of the technique classes require bare feet, socks or heels/shoes so have those ready, and wear sporty clothes that are comfortable and allow you to move and stretch freely. The course will progress according to participants’ skill level, but you will need to know the basics of tango to attend this course. More info at: eevis0073(at)gmail.com or leena(at)vilpo.fi

Wear non-sticky dancing shoes or slippers. Partners will be rotated. More information: auer.heikki(at)gmail.com, marianne.salovius(at)gmail.com or leena(at)vilpo.fi
